Creation 2024
Contemplative tale without text for marionettes,
punctuated by horrific and eerie episodes.
Directed by Baptiste Zsilina.
DERAÏDENZ.
French premiere in january 2024
Audience : 14 +
Duration : 60 min
In the middle of winter, a man is walking through the countryside. He’s not carrying a travelling bag, but he doesn’t look like a local either: It’s Pierre. The snow is falling and he reaches a village. Is he looking for something? It seems as if he is simply following what his journey brings him at that very moment.
"Le dernier jour de Pierre" is a wide gap between trauma and recovery. Llke a final listening moment. It’s setting out a state of search, of vulnerability, and where repair and kindness would be most needed, it’s suppressing hope, making the situation unbearable.
10 scenaries succeed one another in the booth, where about 20 marionettes of different sizes write slowly and softly the story of Pierre.
This slow, contemplative adventure is punctuated by horrific and series episodes. These episodes are suspensions or metaphorical interruptions. They are supernatural and horrific and become increasingly regular. They happen on the front stage.
The show has no text. The sound atmosphere and musics are the company’s original creations as are the marionettes, the scenarios, scenography, writing, lighting all of which form a unique creation in the singular world of DERAÏDENZ.
